If you follow me on Twitter, you may or may not have seen me rant and rave about my jade roller. Where ever I go she goes. This precious little tool not only looks awesome on my nightstand, but it offers incomparable benefits. If you've ever considered getting one of these bad boys, DO IT. If microneedling is too invasive for you, try this alternative for relieving stress in your face, depuffing, rolling out wrinkles, and clearing out toxins!
What is a Jade Roller
Jade is a stone used in Chinese medicine. It cleanses and helps the body drain the lymphatic and filtration system. The handle makes it easier to control. There are two sides on the jade roller, a smaller side and a larger side. I use the smaller one on my under eye and my forehead to release the tension that I held during the day.
I use the bigger side on my cheeks to hopefully, one day achieve the natural contour of a supermodel. (keep in mind, this thing works great, but it will NOT turn me into Bella Hadid. *sigh*)
How to use
You may place your jade roller in the freezer or fridge before use. I personally skip this step because I don't want my face to smell like the frozen peas I've had in my freezer since 2009 (I refuse to let those peas go). I've noticed that I still get a nice cooling sensation by simply leaving the jade roller out on my night stand. Follow these steps after you've made sure your jade roller is nice and sanitized
How to clean
When you’re done rolling, you can gently wipe down the jade roller with a soft, damp cloth. Make sure it is completely dry before putting it away. Never use really hot water and do not soak it. Avoid using harsh chemicals or cleaners to wash your roller because they can erode the polish and finish; only use natural, gentle cleaners. You can then leave the roller out, or place it in your fridge or freezer.
Does it work?
Absolutely! I love jade rolling whenever I’m feeling a little stressed because it relieves tension and feels like a little facial. Your face may or may not be a bit flush after using the jade roller but that just means your circulation is kicking into high gear and the toxins are moving out. I definitely notice less puffiness under my eyes after rolling. And my face feels more toned and glowy. I love Jade rolling because it feels like i'm at a spa and it's like duh treat yourself. You can use your roller as often as you'd like and anywhere you'd like! It's not just for your face. You can use it on your neck, hands, arms, you name it!
