Itchy Scalp, Itchy Scalp, it's not your fault! *Phoebe Buffay Voice*
I've literally received so many requests regarding itchy scalps and dandruff. We all get it .. no shame in this scalp. You know I'm all about pampering the skin, but we often forget about our scalp. Our scalp often wears its neglect on it's sleeve. Just like the skin on your face, your scalp contains sebaceous glands that produce oil (sebum). In the right amount, sebum helps make your hair soft and shiny. But an overproduction of sebum, or buildup of oil on the scalp, can feed the malassezia furfur yeast that leads to dandruff. Today, we're going to show you a super easy, all natural way to help treat your itchy scalp.
What you will need
Mix 1/4 cup of sugar and 2 tbsp of olive oil in a container. scrub your scalp with the mixture. I part my hair in different sections to make sure my entire scalp is getting some love.
Why this works
Sugar is a gentle exfoliator and the olive oil will ensure your scalp gets the moisture it needs.
The same way that exfoliating products remove impurities from your skin, hair scrub helps get rid of different forms of buildup. If you’ve noticed that your hair looks less than shiny and lack-luster, it may be time to add a hair scrub to your routine. Will you be trying this super easy hair hack? let us know in the comments!
